I'm not sure I talk about movies too much on the blog. Last week was a big movie week for my son and I. I joined Blockbuster Online and it's pretty cool. If you know me, you'd know that it was very hard for me to quit renting from the local Family Video. Blockbuster lacks the beautiful women who cut my late fees in half each time I visit and use my corny humor. Here's how a normal visit goes:
BVL: Maazị Karr, ị nwere $ 14.00 na ụgwọ mbubreyo
Maazị Karr: Absolutely mara ezigbo mma! Ị nwere enyi nwoke?
BVL: (ọchị) Uhhh… ee.
Maazị Karr: Ọfọn, mgbe ị hụrụ ya n'abalị a, jide n'aka na ị ga-agwa ya na ọ bụ na onye kacha nwee ihu ọma n’elu ụwa.
BVL: (mụmụkwuo ọnụ ọchị, agba agba ọbara ọbara)
Maazị Karr: I'm sorry… you're so beautiful I didn't hear what you said!
BVL: Oh… you had some late fees but I tell you what, how about you pay them all tonight and I'll only charge half.
Maazị Karr: Wow… beautiful and generous. You're fantastic. Thanks!!!
Now what you don't see or hear in this entire episode are my kids. My son swiftly walks away as soon as we hit the counter – he knows what happens next. My daughter, on the other hand, likes to stay there and ask me for candy during my shtick. After I pay, she likes to tell the ladies how I do that everytime I come in, how old I am, how desperate I am, or simply how much gray hair I have. God love her!
Kwuwe! M digress. Ọ bụrụ na ị nwere ịhụnanya maka ihe nkiri epic, ọdachi Shakespearian, na / ma ọ bụ ihe nkiri nka, Nkọcha nke Ọlaedo Ọlaedo bụ atọ. A na-esere ihe nkiri a na nke kachasị ukwuu n'ụwa, nwere agba mara mma, omume ngosi na uwe a na-enweghị atụ. Ahụrụ m ihe nkiri ahụ. Mgbazinye ma ọ bụ zụta ya taa!
Be sure to watch the full DVD with the additional features. The insight into how the movie was made and directed as well as the actors' labor to make this film are fascinating.
